About Tracy Imm – Long Bio
Tracy is a highly energetic and spiritual woman. She’s a wife, teacher, corporate executive, entrepreneur and writer. Her goal is to empower women on their personal life journeys. She loves to share insights, wisdom and joy with other people.
Tracy started her corporate career as a management trainee for M&T Bank in Baltimore in the late 80’s. Working and going to school at nights and on weekends, she learned the difference between a credit and debit and achieved her goal of having a master’s degree before she turned 30.
After eight years as a banker, she joined Baltimore Gas & Electric to finance large-scale commercial energy management projects. She quickly realized that she hated sitting in a cube working on spreadsheets. She was able to escape corporate finance land. She found a place in the organization where she could use her leadership skills and grow her body of work in the world. When she left the organization thirteen years later, she was a senior leader of the company’s corporate communications team overseeing multi-million dollar projects and national public relations outreach touching millions of people.
For the next eight years, Tracy worked for a variety of companies in a number of sectors as a leader for corporate projects. Her work life took her around the world where she continued to hone her business and marketing skills. In 2013, she launched her side hustle as a writer and teacher. Her true passion centers around empowering women by teaching them about communications, business and technology. To get her work out into the world in a big way, she has studied with top mentors and coaches in the online marketing world – like Jenny Fenig, Gabby Bernstein, Angelique Rewers, David Neagle, Amy Porterfield, and Renee Cerio.
School has always been a part of Tracy’s DNA. She graduated from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) with a degree in communications and systems analysis. She also received her Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Baltimore where she had a concentration in marketing and management. An eternal student, Tracy also has a Masters of Science degree in Business and Technology Management from Stevenson University. In addition to her formal training, Tracy holds two professional accreditations – an Accreditation in Business Communications from the International Association of Business Communications and an Accreditation in Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America. She’s one of only 125 people in the world to have achieved this level of distinction.
After living in downtown Baltimore City, Tracy now lives in the horse country of northwest Baltimore County where she and her husband have a garden, acres of grass to cut and space to take in nature every day.
